BLACKPOOL CONVENTION UPDATE #2
Blackpool Fig Blog #2
Yesterday was more, a lot more!
204 magic dealers = a huge (and I mean a truly massive, colossal, mammoth, stupendous, gargantuan) amount of trips, books, props, apps, electronics and all kinds of related materials.
Below is a list of my faves from yesterday. As always, go look as early as you can, or risk them being sold out...
Jack Nobile & Piero Puddu - Levitas. This is the most visual piece of magic that I've seen so far at the Convention this year. Stunning.
Lloyd Barnes - The Golden Elephant. The best just, somehow, got better.
Alex Latorre - A-BOX. The visual appearance of multiple coins in an empty box. They just seem to fade into existence. So, so good.
Alex Latorre - Trinity Book Test. This is a very, very good booktest, but there are a lot of those. However... it also the best method I have seen for Pegasus Page.
James Keatley & Chris James - Charge. Killer magic with credit cards. I have a set in my wallet right now. Mentzer would be proud.
Pepe Lirrojo - Visions. A creative deck and accompanying book based on the ideas of Stewart James. This wonderful tool allows you to effectively sit down with Rigonally, Faxton, and Khardova and have a session! I know, right?! Madness and genius.
Myung Joon Lee - PADO. A flawless way to invisibly switch cards, billets or notes/bills.
Chris Rawlins - Vision. The perfect peek (device) and multiple clever effects using it.
David Peace - Arcana. A Tarot card book test. Simple and brilliant mentalism (and readings if you choose).
Chris Congreave & Mark Bennett - Any Wish Granted. I love this. Go see it.
Nick Mesmer - Graphite. The best double-writing tool/gimmick that I've ever seen.
Horace Ng & Henry Harrius - Flexi-Lighter. A worker's routine with lighters (obvs!) If you perform magic for laymen, this is a no-brainer.
Happy hunting!
And as always, please tell them that The Fig sent you.
More tomorrow...

Finally for today, it would be remiss of me not to tell you about something that I know is being released tomorrow at the Convention.
Hot on the heels of his fabulous, emotional, standing-ovation lecture, Harry Harrington will be premiering Quadra. You're going to want one 😉
Get to his stand early - I think this will be a sell out.
