BLACKPOOL CONVENTION UPDATE #1
Blackpool Fig Blog #1
My first impression: Wow, there's a lot of stuff!
We really are living in a Golden Age of magic creativity, with brilliant creators, artists, writers, technicians, makers and visionaries. And modern tech capabilities give us the tools to make almost any idea a reality.
And nowhere in the world of magic is that more on show than in the Dealers' Room at Blackpool.
It can be an overwhelming mind-**** to navigate, so below I'm providing a very subjective list of the material that has caught my eye so far... and which I suggest is worth a purchase.
I won't be including all the fantastic material that has featured in The Fig over the previous two Blackpool issues and the 7 bonus updates this week*, rather the list below features material that I saw for the first time (or the finished version) at the Convention.

Mark Bennett Magic: 1. Get Saucy. 2. The Gift Card & Gift Slide
Mark Mason: 1. New Sharpie Through Card. 2. Conseal. And one of the best things I think Mark has ever sold, 3. Ultimate Sandwich.
Matthew Wright: He's got a ton of great new stuff and my absolute favourite is Deepest Desire, his new Tarot routine.
Mark Lemon: Ponzi. A two-envelope Bank Night. Minimalist brilliance.
Gabor Nemeth: Kurotzuki (this is the only method I would consider using now)
Thomas Badar: Outside The Box
International Magic: Coin Thru Coin
Hanson Chien: The King of Chaos (you must see this!)
3Monkeys: ALL 6 new books are must-buys. And if you like visual, Insta-ready card magic, NYPE Extreme is as good as it gets.
That should be enough to keep you going today.
Go and see them all, and tell them that The Fig sent you 😉

Yesterday on the Blackpool Magic Conventioneers group on FB I predicted that four items would sell out yesterday, the first day of the convention:
